April is Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month, which was started by The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). 2011 marks 145 years that the society has been fighting animal cruelty.
The volunteers at People for Pets, and Foster Dog Parent Lee Youde, have seen some horrific things; animals beaten, thrown out of their homes to starve to death and dogs left on chains to live isolated, miserable lives outside with little or no food and water. In an effort to educate the public, so they will know how to recognize animal abuse, Lee Youde was interviewed by the host of In the Spotlight, Jason White.
